Manu's First day school

                                                              

Manasi was getting ready for school (First day of school).

Manu/Manasi:  Where am I going?

Mom (Gouri):  You are going to the play home school that we saw other day.

Manu: (as expected): Why?

Mom: To play in the slide & swing. Also there are lots of friends & teacher.

Manu was ready in her bright yellow and blue dress. The little brown school bag that mainly had snacks box and water bottle inside it.

We took her to the school.

We didn't know how she would react when it’s time to go inside the school. Is she going to cry and insist she won't go? In any case, we thought we will hang around the school.

 So we took her to the play home and left her at the class room where there were already 2 other kids. Soon she started crying. She cried a lot. With her another kid also started crying. So soon there was competition for crying between 2-3 kids.

 We took courage and left her with the teacher. We came out of school and then waited for some more time outside. There was no noise from Manu. We thought she was adjusted and playing with other kids.

 We knew she needs to be in school for 3 hours. But it felt like time was running very slow. We were wondering if she started crying again.

Finally after 2 hours, it was time for Manasi to come out of school.

There she was….

Our little girl was in teacher’s hands crying continuously. She looked little scared, little puzzled & little tensed. As soon as she saw us, her eyes lit up. She rushed to us and hugged us.

We were very eager to hear how it went. Teacher & maid were informed that Manasi cried a lot and after that she slept in the class. It’s first day, all kids behave the same and she will get adjusted. She needs some time. Don’t worry about it.

Me and Gouri thought, we shouldn't send Manasi to school for sleeping.

Second Day:

Previous day experience made us very nervous. We both were thinking that what if she cries again? What will do if sleeps in the class?

To our surprise, she went to school calmly without crying and started playing with other kids. Probably she must have understood (????) that this is her daily routines for coming days.

Gouri was waiting outside near the school. After 3 hours she went to school and Manu was fine. She didn't cried and looks fine. Teacher told Manu was good in school and didn't make any trouble. Gouri was so happy after hearing it.

Manu was adjusted to playschool very well. She finishes her snacks during the break. After coming from school she used to sing all the rhymes at homes with her mother and grandmother. She got 2 stars in the first week on her hand which she was showing to us whole day.

                                                      

              

After a week:

On first day of second week, it’s time for school uniforms. Manasi looks very good in uniforms and we decided to send her in school Van. We just want to try if she can adjust school VAN or not. Manu went happily inside the VAN and waived her hands towards us. We fallowed the VAN till the school to check Manu’s behavior. After reaching school she was calm, went inside the school with big smile stated playing school.

We both finally took big sigh of relief and felt Manasi finally is going school.
